And Yet You Kiss Me
My skin is no longer,
For all I have is a hide
Of scars.
And yet you kiss me.
I have not lips
But a gaping wound.
And yet you kiss me.
My eyes are not windows
To my soul
But bombed out reflections
Of a man who used to be,
And yet you kiss me.
My heart is a broken,
Blackened shell of
What was.
Yet you plant your flag
And my courage rallies
To your love.
And yet you kiss me.
All you need do
Is look at me
And I know that I am
Safe,
That I am home.
And yet you kiss me.
All you must do is look
And say I love you
And I am whole
And yet you kiss me.
